Social tribes are marginalized tribal communities of India. Article 342 of the constitution of India empowers the president of India to declare any marginalized tribal community as Schedule tribe after the consultation with the Governor of the State. These scheduled tribes mostly live in hilly areas or in forests lands of the country

The Geographical isolation, Primitive Traits  , Distinct culture , isolation from mainstream people, Economically backward and  etc are some of the essential characteristics of these tribal communities.
