The construction of Qutub Minar was started by Qutb-ud-din Aibak but he only constructed the basement. The construction work was taken over by his successor Iltutmish who constructed three more storeys. Later Firoz Shah Tughlaq added on two more storeys. But I think the real credit is given to Qutb-ud-din Aibak.
