For your first question,

Purushottam came before than Chandragupta Maurya. Purushottam was the king of Punjab around the time when India had many small kingdom countries called janapadas. He fought the battle against Alexander the Great in 326 BCE, while Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of Mauryan Empire, shortly rose to power around 321 BCE.

For the second part, I think you are referring to the Battle of Hydaspes. In the Battle of Hydaspes(Jhelum), Porus and Alexander fought against each other and Chandragupta Maurya was not at all associated with it. In the battle, though Purushottam fought valiantly, he was defeated by Alexander through  a decisive victory. (Link here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Hydaspes)
