kalamkari print is originated in andhra Pradesh . it is derived from the words qalam (pen) and kari(craftmanship), meaning drawing with a pen.  only natural dyes are used in it .kalamkari is mostly done in Sri kalahasti and machilipatnam

the created of kalamkari is unknown .

the common thing in kalamkari and Morris cotton print is in both of them mostly dark blue color dye I.e indigo is used
