Heya❤️

In the 18th century, Benjamin Franklin in America tried experiments with charges. It was Franklin who named the two kinds of electricity 'positive' and 'negative'. He even collected electric charges from thunderstorm clouds through wet string from a kite.

Answer:

A British Physicist named J.J Thompson in the year 1897 proposed that an atom constitutes of at least one negatively charged particle. He discovered electrons while working on an experiment. ... The absolute charge of an electron is the negative charge of 1.6×10-19 coulombs.
