pakistan was founded by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah 

muslims of sub-continent contributed alot in the efforts 

and its named after the five states collectively: 

P-Punjab 
A-Afghania(now called NWFP or KPK) 
K-Kashmir 
S-Sindh 
TAN-balochisTAN
