William Henry Perkin
He left Germany in 1845 and for 20 years he was Professor of Chemistry at the Royal College of Chemistry, London. It was there in 1853 that William Henry Perkin (1838–1907) came as a student. In 1856, Perkin had made his discovery of mauve dye and had patented it.
