I think Maddy felt bad about the Wanda, this is because as stated in the book that after Wanda had left, Peggy seemed to forget the whole business whereas Maddie could not concentrate on her lesson and felt a deep feeling in her stomach. Also, Maddy carefully hanged Wanda's painting on a pink flowered wall paper whereas Peggy just threw it on her bed. Maddy also made a decision that she was never going to stand by and say noting again, even if it meant losing Peggy's friendship. These incidents state is that Maddy felt bad about the behaviour shown to Wanda.
