the initial velocity (I) = 36 km/h convert it into metre per second = 36 *5/18 = 10 m/s

final velocity (V) = 0 as there is retardation

time(T) = 5 seconds

retardation = final velocity - initial velocity / time retardation = 0 - 10 m/s divide by 5 seconds

retardation = -10 m/s / 5 seconds

retardation = - 2 m/s^2
