The organisms living on decomposing matters are decomposers.
They break down dead and decaying animals and plants. The process of breaking down is called decomposition.
Decomposers absorb nutrients and energy from these dead remains of the organisms and survive and grow on it. Examples of decomposers are fungi and soil bacteria.
