A Periodic Table may be defined as an arrangement or chart which classified as all the known element on the basis of their properties in such a way that the elements with similar properties are placed in the same vertical column and the similar elements are separated from one another .
- The physical and chemical properties of elements are a periodic function of thier atomic mass.
- Periodic table consists of seven horizontal column called period and eight vertical column called group.
- The element which lie on left side of each group consists of group is this are called Normal or Representative elements .
- The element which lie on right hand side of each group consist sub-group B . They are called transition elements.
- Groups are arranged on increasing atomic masses and grouping of similar element together .
The periodic law of elements is first given by Johannan Wolfgang Döbereiner's .
