The history of the English language really started with the arrival of three Germanic tribes who invaded Britain during the 5th century AD. These tribes, the Angles, the Saxons and the Jutes, crossed the North Sea from what today is Denmark and northern Germany.

First of all, Language is the greatest invention by the human which was never invented by anyone.
The speakers of the language shape the language and it's a continuous process which is always going on. We don't realise that we're consciously and unconsciously shaping the language.
