The history of computer printers started in 1938 when Chester Carlson invented a dry printing process called electrophotography commonly called a Xerox, the foundation technology for laser printers to come. In 1953, the first high-speed printer was developed by Remington-Rand for use on the Univac computer.

WHO INVENTED PRINTER ?

Although the technology behind, the dry printing, commonly called Xerox... the process behind this was invented in 1938 by Chester Carlson, the first computer printer is generally considered to have been invented in 1953 by Remington Rand.

This first printer was developed to be used solely with the Universal Automatic Computer or UNIVAC.
