Answer:

On August 13, with nearly 90 names on the guest list, including those of major media representatives and the movers and shakers of London, the spotlight was on Cromwell Place – South Kensington’s hub for the arts – which played host to the exclusive evening drinks reception that officially unveiled the world’s first rollable TV, LG Signature OLED R for its European launch.

Already in Q4, 2020, LG had launched the rollable OLED TV onto the Korean market at seven premium consumer electronics stores located in major centres throughout the country. It is available for purchase at a retail price of KRW 100 million (approx. €74,000).

Manufactured in LG’s advanced Gumi facility in South Korea, great attention is given to detail, from the brushed aluminium casing to the modern wool speaker cover by Kvadrat of Denmark. Customers have their choice of four shades of covering – Signature Black, Moon Gray, Topaz Blue or Toffee Brown. They can further personalise their unit with an engraving of a name or message on the aluminium base. LG Signature OLED R has a 65-inch flexible OLED display.

The new rollable TV liberates users from the limitations of the wall, enabling owners to curate their living environment without having to permanently set aside space for a large, black screen that is only useful when turned on.

“The seamless marriage of technological and design innovation demonstrated in LG Signature OLED R is an unprecedented feat that genuinely deserves to be called a work of art,” said Park Hyoung-sei, president of LG Home Entertainment Company. “This is a true luxury product that reimagines what television can be, this unique TV delivers a differentiated user experience and a new way of thinking about space while once again confirming LG’s leadership in the premium TV market.”
