Bairam Khan was an important military commander, later commander - in - chief of the Mughal Army. He was a powerful statesman and regent in the court of Emperor Humayan and Emperor Akbar. He was a guardian, chief mentor, advisor, teacher and the most trusted ally of Emperor Humayan.
Bairam khan died on 31 January 1561 in Patan, Gujarat, India. He was murdered while travelling through Gujarat. After His death, His son Abdul Rahim became an important part of Akbar's administration and one of Nine gems of Akbar's court.
