India's First ever rap king is Baba Sehgal
Baba Sehgal rap were a popular (albeit short-lived) trend in the 90's. He did music for the movie Dance Party(1995). It contained many songs with rap lyrics for eg: "kapurthala se aaya hoon, tere liye laaya hoon, Orange kurta peela pajama..".Wikipedia says "He is credited as the world's first professional Hindi rapper and first Indian rapper to jump on the Indipop bandwagon, and released an album which got frequent airplay on MTV India".
