Hellen Keller was the first prson who was deaf as well as blind to earn a bachelor of arts degree. She is also popular because of her autobiography, The story of my life in which she tells how Anne Sullivan, her teacher broke through the isolation imposed by a near complete lack of language, allowing Hellen to blossom as she learned to communicate.
