Jenkins is John Hallock's friend who works as a magazine owner.He wanted a ghost story from John for his magazine.
He is very fond of magazines.

Jenkins is an employer of Hallock. He is a person who believes that ghost stories are the stories which people liked.He asked Hallock to write stories since his ghost stories are of live proportions . Hallock too is not willing to contradict Jenkins because his magazine is the only one to print Hallock's stuff . Jenkins have an uncanny knowledge as when the landlord or grocer asks money to Hallock Jenkins would ask him to write stories and provide money.
