Irrigation refers to the process of watering of agricultural plants through artificial means from tanks , wells, tubewells, etc....

The convectional means of irrigation were : Wells ,tanks and inundation canals.

The modern means of irrigation were : tube wells, perennial canals, drip irrigation etc..

Father of Indian irrigation : Megh R. Goyal

Now he is just a  retired professor of agricultural engineering..
