daji Farzand volunteered to lead the attack. Surprisingly, he decided to take only 300 horsemen when he knew there are more than 1500 infantry within the Panhala Fort. Kondaji knew that capturing the fort in direct open land attack was impossible. Hence an alternate method was inevitable. He decided to camp at Ratnagiri and get all possible information on Fort Panhala. All detailed information including where the fortresses are, how many soldiers on each shift, how exactly is the surveillance distributed and such important information pieces were gathered.
