Answer:

I am a future Information Technology and Management professional completing my degree at the University of Texas at Dallas. I was introduced to this career path in my late undergraduate years where I studied Biochemistry. Making the change from being a pre-medicine student to a business student has been a challenging one, but it has left me feeling more true to myself.

During this past academic school year, I worked as a research assistant in a study called The Playful Learning Project where I coded and analyzed the visual interactions between young children and their guardians over the course of a 3 year period. There I built an Excel database with the coded information and analysis data to create easier sorting and filtering of the study segments. Over the previous summer I worked in a clinical laboratory called Antech Diagnostics where I completed detailed data logs for clinical laboratory testing and developed more technical skills that I am now pursuing with my education.

As for my future, the cosmetics industry has always fascinated me. I am interested in a career where I am able to merge my love for cosmetics, my science background and my newly developing technical knowledge into something bigger. I feel that my skills lead me to be a great fit in a Research and Development or Product Development Analyst position.

To help me gain more experience and hands on work, I am currently looking for internships that would push me toward my future career goals. I would love to receive any suggestions about where I could start my journey, or how I could exert my strengths that would be most beneficial.
