Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj was a great ruler who founded the maratha kingdom.
He was born on 19th feb 1630 in the pune district. Shivaji father was Shahaji who always tried to freetheir kingdom from the Sultanate of Bijapur as well as wanted to throw out the mughal rule.
By the age of 16, Shivaji captured Torna fort of Bijapur kingdom.
He inspired his people so much that Maratha empire continue to fight mughal rule for 27 years after his death.

shivaji's full name is Shivaji Bhonsle and popularly known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was born on February 19, 1627 in Shivneri, Pune. He was a great Indian warrior king. He is the disciple of Samardha Ramadas. His father Shahji was a small Jagirdar. From Shivaji's childhood, he was composed of brave, kindnesswhich made to call him as "Defender of the Hindu religion." He was the founder of Maratha Empire in Western India. He conquered many forts at the age of 17. He is a great patriot of India. He spend his whole life as a defender and as a saviour of the Hindu Religion. He was died on 3 April 1680, Raigad fort.
