Answer:

Sikandar Lodi succeeded his father Bahlul Lodi after his death in 1489 AD and became the second ruler of Lodi Dynasty. He ruled the Delhi Sultanate from 1489 AD to 1517 AD. Bahlul Lodi nominated Sikandar as the next heir of Lodi Dynasty. Sikandar Lodi was the second son of Bahlul Lodi and Barbak Shah was the eldest son who was the viceroy of Jaunpur. After the death of Bahlul Lodi there was a fight for power between Barbak and Sikandar for the throne of Delhi Sultanate.

Sikandar could resolve the resistance through delegation and became the ruler without any bloodshed. He founded Agra in 1504 AD as his second capital after Delhi. Sikandar was a fanatical Muslim and he broke the sacred images of the Jwalamukhi Temple at Naga Kot and ordered the temples of Mathura to be destroyed.

Administration: Sikandar Lodi was a good and caring ruler for his Muslim subjects but he was extremely strict and harsh for Hindus. He installed Persian language as the official language. Sikandar enforced the Jiziya tax to non-Muslims. He destroyed Hindu Temples and erected Mosques.

Sikandar Lodi wanted to overpower the Gwalior Fort and attacked 5 times but he never succeeded. He was a staunch Sunni and a Muslim fanatic. He lacked religious tolerance. In the name of religion, he perpetuated untold cruelties on the Hindus. He took a keen interest in the development of agriculture. He introduced the Gaz-i-Sikandari (Sikandar's yard) of 32 digits for measuring cultivated fields
