The “Teresa Fidalgo” story which went viral in 2014 on Instagram is actually a short film made by the Portuguese producer, David Roberdão. Though it went viral in 2014, it has been online for years. It was even discussed on Yahoo! Answers back in 2008. The name of the film is ‘A Curva’. It is created in the vein of “Blair Witch Project”. It is a “found footage” type of short film, which is fictitious. So, Teresa Fidalgo, who is a hitchiker in the film is nothing but a fictitious character. The producer also has a website of his own.

So, no one is going to die. It is just one of those online “chain-like, comment, share and repost” pranks (though a cruel one at that).

Although the producer was pleased with this massive unexpected publicity.
