Job Description
Key data that might sound cool to you on that job: 80+ physical servers, 800+ VMs, 700Mbps peak traffic, 55k concurrent users.
As the System Administrator you will be responsible for: scaling systems accordingly to growing markets, caring about product uptime, and adapting to growing product capacity needs.
Responsibilities:
Automating deployment & updates by working with Ansible to ensure quick scaling of the systems
Designing, scaling and monitoring infrastructure & applications to ensure greatest uptime and user experience
Working closely with developers on their scale challenges
Ensuring capacity of infrastructure accordingly to portal growth predictions on every market
Rolling out new markets & language version to make Brainly globally available
Dealing with high load & traffic challenges (55k concurrent users / 200M pageviews monthly).
Designing backup / logging facilities
Qualifications
3+ yr experience on Admin / Architect role in high traffic environment
Great knowledge of Linux and TCP/IP stack
Experience with HA environment
Experience with configuration and maintenance of common technologies such as MySQL, nginx, apache2, DNS, redis, scripting languages, automation frameworks
Knowledge of PHP will be an advantage
Great verbal and written communication skills
Self-driven
previous experience or interest in development will be an advantage
