Sudha Murthy

Explanation:

Ms. Sudha Murthy is the author and narrator of "Hassan's Attendance problem".

Always the author and narrator is not the same person for a particular story. Author is the person who writes the story and narrator is the one who describes it, often the first person.

Ms. Sudha is a teacher,  philanthropist and a social worker. Her humble nature reflects through her writings.

SUDHA MURTHY WAS THE AUTHOR

The theme of this chapter is that, "negligence of the student”. Basically, Hassan was a student whose main issue was lack of attendance in class. In the chapter, in each meeting in the school, Hassan would argue with his teacher to give him attendance and promised to be more punctual next time. Which actually never happened and the teacher called Hassan’s parents. Also, till the very end Hassan showed no signs of progress.

Hassan comes from a family which is affluent and is good looking, bright and tall amongst other students. The boy also has a stunning memory. He finds it easy to remember what the teacher says and performs well in the entire class. Sometime he bunked classes and became careless.
