The president is indirectly elected by an electoral college which consist of the elected members of the two houses of the Parliament as well as the state legislative Assemblies . The voting is by secret ballot . He / she is elected according to the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable votes .
He / she is removed from the office by impeachment to be adopted by by a special majority of votes in both the houses of parliament .
