The owner of the Nokia brand name is Nokia Corporation, or better Nokia Oyj. Nokia Corporation is an independent company. Majority of business such as Nokia Networks and Nokia Technologies are overlooked by Nokia Corporation.

However, when we talk about mobile phones, the 2017 (and future) lineup of Nokia branded phones will be made by HMD Global. HMD holds the exclusive license to manufacture and sell Nokia branded smartphones. A lot of HMD staff includes ex-Nokia employees which were transferred to Microsoft when Nokia sold the Mobiles and Services division to Microsoft.
