My favorite is Nikola Tesla. He was an idealist that didn't care for money, but only for his inventions and the advancement of humankind, in contrast to some other scientists like Edison who would purposefully hide new inventions just so they could keep making money. He was devoted to his work and only slept for two hours a night. He was also quite sassy. Of course, in addition to being the inventor of the modern world!

and though telsa is not that renowned :( but he earned people's respect
