Zahi Hawass, the Secretary General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities pointed out that the mummy was in a bad condition.

Howard Carter , a 20the century British archaeologist was held responsible for it.

Zahi Hawas, Secretory general of Egypt's supreme council of antiquities, bent over the mummy and looked at it very carefully. Then he remarked on how the mummy was in a bad condition becuse of what Carter did in the 1920's. It was in 1922, Carter discovered king Tut's tomb.
