The rich middle class took over the control once the Jacobin government fell. It was then soon taken over by Napoleon Bonaparte.
- After that, another constitution was instituted, which laid out two authoritative committees that were chosen by individuals which further selected a 5-member council called Directors.
- The directors kept on fighting with each other and the second committee leading to chaos.
- This caused political turmoil in France, which in the end prompted the coming of Napoleon Bonaparte, a tactical tyrant.
- Subsequent to holding onto political power in France in 1799, he delegated himself, as king, in 1804.
