Don Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio Hidalgo-Costilla y Gallaga Mandarte Villaseño was the person who sparked the Mexican Independence Movement. He was also known by the names Don Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla or Miguel Hidalgo.
He was a priest of Mexican Roman catholic. According to resources he had encouraged the Mexicans to grow olives and grapes which was prohibited by the authorities to improve Spanish import.
His famous speech “The Cry Of Dolores” was the first spark that created unity and led the people of Mexico towards independence.
