Chaudhary Devi Lal Led the movement Nyay Yudh during the assembly elections of Haryana in 1987.

The ruling party was Congress during that time. Chaudhary Devi Lal Led the movement Nyay Yudh and formed a new party called Lok Dal in order to win the respective election and come in power.

He said that if he won the election he would forgive the loans of farmers and small businessman. His party won 60 seats out of 90 seats and formed a clean majority. He did forgive the loans of farmers and small businessmen.

However in the next elections (1991) Lok Dal lost and Congress again came in power.
