Sanyukta Maharashtra' weekly in 1952 was started by Keshavrao Jedhe.
This led to the formation of the precursor movement Sanyukta Maharashtra Parishad, initiated on 1st November 1956, causing a great political stirring and, under the wise and fearless control of Keshavrao Jedhe, a whole party meeting was held in Pune and accordingly Samyukta Maharashtra Samiti was established on 6th February 1956.
