Iltutmish the father of razia chose raxia as his successor.
Iltutmish chose her daughter as his successor in AD 1236 instead of any of his sons, because he found them imcapable to rule. Razia Sultan was a brave, Intelligent and just a ruler.
But the nobles could not accept her as a sultana. Both the ulema or clergy and nobility found it humiliating to work at her command. So, they conspired against her and finally killed her in AD 1240.
