Drought is a very touching account by S.C. Chatterjee. It is the narrative of the poor weaver who subsisted in the village, Kashipur identified as Gafur. Amina was the child of Gafur. She was of 10 years old who do not have her mother. One day Gafur was very starved and thirsty. He urged her for some food and water. But she could not deliver it to him because they were very poor and don't have anything to eat. Being annoyed Gafur slapped Amina.
