Ashoka was the most famous Mauryan ruler. He was the first ruler who tried to spread his message to the people through inscriptions. He is the only king in the history of the world who gave up conquest after winning a war. He followed a religious policy of his own and formulated the famous policy of Dhamma.

Ashoka was a ruler of the mauryan dynasty . He was the only king who gave up war in the history .He was the first  person who tried to spread messages to people through inscriptions . He got his dynasty from his grandfather Chandragupta Maurya . After the Kalinga war is when he gave up war after seeeing all the bloodshed he decided not to fight anymore wars and instead spread messages of dhamma.
