Mr. Behrman is a painter ,staying on the ground floor of the same bulding where Johnsy and Sue live.He has been called an unsuccessful artist for forty years.He always wanted to paint a masterpiece but he never done it.in starting of the story he only painted a few advertisements etc for earning.
