Kenchit Pathiken was a pen name adopted by Dinabhandu Mitra, the famous Bengali play-writer and poet. So Dinabhandu Mitra was called Kenchit Pathiken.

He had a won a huge praise for his plays. His most famous play was Nildarpan which depicts the sufferings and miseries of indigo farmers of Bengal during the British rule in India. It informs us about the exploitation of indigo farmers and indigo revolt of 1858
