Dewan and Piyali Sharma Mouzadar were hanged to death.  

Piyali Barua and Maniram Dewan was convicted guilty for causing the revolt and conspiring and treason against the Britishers for the peasants of Assam. Britishers had commanded that they should be hanged by the neck till he is dead and the execution be brought out on or before the 26th day of February 1858
