Who was Henry? How did he play an role in Ausable plan

Henry was a waiter in the same hotel in which Ausable, a secret agent was living in.

Henry was not a direct part of the story as his main role was to knock on the door.

It all happened when Ausable was convincing Max about an imaginary balcony.

When Henry knocked, it was assumed to be police and Max was supposed to hide in the balcony which was not even there resulting in his death.
