Why can't we consider equation(1). take LCM (by which we obtain a quadratic polynomial in the denominator) and then take the zeroes of this polynomial in the denominator .ie. equate x=y or x-y and thus finally solve the system of the given linear equations in 2 variables by substituting the values of x ory obtained in equation (1) in equation (2)?

by using that method of quadratic polynomial this became complicated and take a lot of time hence all books prefers using method of linear equation
