Hey Nawnita,
Ashoka was an ancient Indian emperor of the Mauryan Dynasty. He ruled almost the whole Indian subcontinent from c. 268 to 232 BCE.
He was born on 304 B.C.
His father was Bindusara and his mother was Subhadrangi well known as Devi Dharma.
He was a very great and powerful ruler.
He gave up war after his battle at Kalinga as he was heartbroken by seeing the bloodshed.
He died on 232 B.C.
