Lord Dalhousie was the Governor-General of India from 1848 - 1856. He was born on 22nd April 1812. Je was the founder of Dictrine of Lapse which stated that a king who doesn't have his own son will have to leave the thrown and the british government would heir the thrown of that kingdom. This policy turned to be the major causes for revolt of 1857.
