Louis XVI was the last King of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution. He was referred to as Citizen Louis Capet during the four months just before he was executed by guillotine. In 1765, upon the death of his father, Louis, Dauphin of France, he became the new Dauphin.

Louis sixteen was the last king of France . The continuous wars emptied the treasury of France . To refill treasury he increased the tax and prices of essential good . The people formed a National Assembly and protested and destroyed Bastille as a result the king was brought under their control and in 1765 he was guillotined.
