"King Pulakeshi II was more proficient emperor compared to King Harshavardhana.

A Battle fought near the Narmada River between them in which King Harshavardhana was defeated by King Pulakeshi II and entered into a treaty which declared Harshavardhana to be the ruler of all territories to the North of the Narmada River and Pulakeshi II was the sovereign of all territories to the south of the river.
