Helen sent a story named 'The Frost King' to Mr.Anagnos. She wrote this story for him when she way at Fern Quarry. She mailed it to him which pleased Mr.Anagnos. He was delighted by the present he recieved. To encourage Helen's writing tendencies , he published the story in the Perkins Institute magazine/manual. Soon he recieved a letter from Miss Margaret T. Canby stating how the story published in the magazine had an uncanny resemblance to a story she wrote years ago named, 'The Frost Fairies' . When this was notified to the Perkins Institution, Mr.Anagnos was deeply unhappy about it. He felt cheated by one of her very bright student and friend. He ordered a committee to look into the matter . Helen was soon summoned before them . The committee interrogated Helen as to how she wrote the story and whether she had plagiarized it. She declined any allegation against her . The truth was that Helen heard the story in her childhood and it somehow got engraved in her subconscious mind. The committee voted in the favour of Helen and forgived her for the mistake that she did without an ill motive. Helen was left perturbed by this incident. Mr.Anagnos later revealed that he always believed Helen but their friendship could never recover to earlier relations ever. Margaret T. Canby also encouraged Helen to keep writing stories . She motivated her to spin her own tales without fear of plagiarism.
