Helen met Mr. Irons when she was visiting Mr. William Wade, in Pennsylvania. Mr. Irons was Mr. Wade's neighbour, and was apparently a good Latin Scholar. He began teaching Helen Latin, and also helped her with Arithmetic, it was under him that Helen furthered her love for new languages.
