ANSWER:

Ratna was Rama Rao’s niece who was 11 year old. Mesmerised by the voice and beauty of Ratna, Ranga fell in love with her at first sight.

EXPLANATION:

‘Ranga’s Marriage’ is a story written by Masti Venkatesha Iyengar. Ranga was the son of Village accountant, Rama Rao who used to live in Hosahalli village, Karnataka. He had sent his son to Bangalore for studies. When he returned home after studies to the village, it was a big event. Everyone in the village were curious to know how the boy changed.

Those days were having the practice of child marriage. Rama Rao wanted his son to get married to Ratna, who is his Rama Rao’s niece, 11 year old. But Ranga disliked the concept of child marriages as he was influenced by the city culture. His father wanted t play a plot with the help of the astrologer Shyama. He made Ratna to come to their house for buttermilk. While Ranga was entering the house, they made Ratna to sing a song.
