Solidarity is one of the most biggest trade union of Poland.
After a big struggle against the Government Lech Walesa ( leader of the freedom struggle ) signed a 21 - point agreement with the Government.
This agreement gave the people to form independent trade unions. After that Solidarity (solidarnosc in Polish) was formed. It was the first time when independent trade unions were formed in Poland. It was the first trade union of Poland. It was so popular that within a year about 1 crore people joined it and it became the largest trade union of Poland. When presidential elections were held solidarity won 99 out of 100 seats and Lech Walesa became the president of Poland.
